ABBOTTABAD: Chief of ‘Sooba Hazara Tehrik’ Sardar Haider Zaman on Thursday flayed the target killing in Karachi and urged the government to expose the culprits.
Addressing the chehlum of those killed on April 12 last at Jinnah Chowk here, he said that some anti-state elements were out to defame the movement of Hazara province in one way or the other. He said the Tehrik had nothing to do with the Karachi violence and asked the government to probe the incident of target killings to expose the culprits and bring them to book.
Former minister Amanullah Khan Jadoon, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, Qalandar Lodhi, Waseem Khan, Naseer Khan, Maulana Azam, Tahir Jamal, Mumtaz Khan and others also spoke on the occasion.
Quran Khwani and fateha were also offered for all those who sacrificed their lives for the creation of Hazara province on April 12 last. Those injured during the violent protests were also given compensation.
The speakers said that blood of the martyrs would not go waste and their mission would continue to achieve the desired goal. They warned that the movement would be intensified if the rulers did not meet the demand for creation of Hazara province.
The leaders criticised the provincial government for not registering cases against the police officials involved in the incident. They said that future line of course would be devised in the upcoming meeting of action committee.
Meanwhile, separate rallies were staged to mark the chehlum of Hazara martyrs. A big rally was taken out by All Employees Coordination Council from District Headquarters Hospital, Abbottabad. Council office-bearers including Qazi Tanvir, Maroof Khan and Haroon Khan led the rally.
Addressing the rally, the speakers said that employees of all the government departments and those living in Hazara were demanding the status of province for Hazara, which should be fulfilled.
A rally comprising of scores of youths was taken out from Qalandarabad, which after covering 15 kilometre of distance on foot gathered at Cantonment Chowk. Naeem Lodhi led the rally while MPA Qalandar Lodhi made a speech. The leaders said that the demand for creation of Hazara province would be raised on every forum.
