PTI leads KP’s local bodies polls with 288

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emerged as the largest party with 288 district council seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s local bodies (LB) elections that were held on Saturday.  According to unofficial results, PTI leads LG polls with 288 district seats in out of 800 followed by independent candidates with 126.  Awami National Party (ANP) secured 116 and JUI-F with 102 seats. The result of 178 district councils are yet to come. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) managed 54 seats and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) with 95. PTI also leads tehsil council seats with 232 seats followed by independent with 112 seats, according to the hitherto-announced unofficial results.  -
